Sometimes you may hear the voices from your past or even the current voices mixed in, defining who you are. Sometimes you have to find a way to shut out all the noise so that finally you can see clearly, so that you can finally hear God’s voice or the heart of God clearly. I heard every voice but God’s voice for so many years, every voice was in my head. Whenever there is too much noise, I remind myself I need to listen to the voice that matters the most.
I had to set up a few guards to prevent myself from spiraling with the help of prayer, not merely because I’m afraid but because I need His strength. Recognize what your weaknesses are, see what triggers you to continue to fall into those areas of weakness and set up safeguards, with the God’s wisdom. So, if extreme control triggers you and causes serious anger or emotional distress then set up guards with those who may use extreme control, as an example. While you have those guards up you can continue to get stronger and maybe those areas of weakness can become stronger. We may fail from time to time because we are but dust.
For me, it feels like God has given me a second chance at life, one that’s not so clouded by me beating myself into the ground. So, with that I can see that God has a purpose and wants to use me. So, I pray that you see that too. Please recognize you have gifts and positive qualities. Recognizing the positive aspects of who you are isn’t arrogance as long as you remember and give glory to Giver of those good gifts.
Romans 12:3
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
